Assisted Living Facilities
Transcript:
Hi, I’m Wes Coulson, and this is your Elder Law Minute. One of the things we find as elder law attorneys is that there are an awful lot of people who have never been into an assisted living facility and don’t know the difference between an assisted living facility and a nursing home. They think that they’re pretty much the same thing and that if someone would be going into an assisted living, they’re about the same thing with about the same restrictions as going into a nursing home. Let me tell you from having visited a lot of assisted livings that nothing could be further from the truth. To me, an assisted living looks more like the nicest college dormitory you could ever imagine. Everyone has their own apartment. They have social activities. You come down for shared meals. They’re nice places. If you’re facing a decision of whether to go into an assisted living facility, I really invite you to visit one. I think it’ll be an eye opener in a very good way for you. Thanks!
