Types of care covered by VA benefits
Transcript:
Hi, I’m Wes Coulson with your Elder Law Minute continuing our series on VA Pension Benefits. Today, I want to talk today about the types of care that the VA benefits can be used to pay for. Big distinction here between the VA benefits and Medicaid. Medicaid is generally only for somebody who is in a nursing home or needs nursing home level of care. The VA benefits can be used to help pay for care at any level. So, not just nursing home but any assisted living. The VA benefits can be used to pay for home care, for therapy, other types of medical expenses, pretty much anything that’s paid out of pocket is going to be considered a qualifying expense for determining VA benefits eligibility. Thanks.
