Video Transcript:
Hi, Im Kaye DeSelms Dent with Dent Coulson Elder Law, here with another Elder Law Minute for you. These videos are intended to educate you about the Elder Care Journey, which begins earlier in life than you might think. We hope that you find them useful and if you have further questions, please call us at Dent Coulson Elder Law.
Today I’d like to chat with you about the importance of understanding how your retirement accounts such as IRA’s and 401k’s can be affected by your estate planning.
A few years ago now, congress changed the way that you can pass down these retirement accounts to your children and other loved ones aside from your spouse. These changes were very significant and can have significant financial consequences to your children and other loved ones if you don’t properly plan.
Call us today here at Dent Coulson Elder Law and one of our attorneys will be happy to speak with you about your particular circumstances and what changes you may need to your estate plan regarding your retirement accounts.
Thanks for Listening
