A Powerful, Simple Idea for Preserving Family History
Transcript:
Hi, I’m Wes Coulson from Dent-Coulson Elder Law in O’Fallon, Illinois and St. Louis, Missouri, serving clients in both states. Today, I’m going to have the privilege of sharing with you one of the best ideas that I’ve ever had the privilege of sharing and it has nothing to do with elder law.
When a loved one dies, we’re looking for anything that we can find to treasure memories of them and the big thing we look at is pictures. Now, one thing that we’re all aware of is that boy, by golly, anytime we have our phone with us, we have a camera with us. Here’s what’s not appreciated, what we have with us is a movie camera, let me tell you, here’s the idea.
If you have a loved one and they’re getting up in age, get out the family picture album, pictures that they’re going to remember, hand them one of those pictures, turn on the video feature of the film and say something like, “Mom (or Dad) tell me about this picture.” And watch their face light up as they remember what’s probably one of the happier times of their life. It’ll be a memory you’re going to treasure forever. Thanks.
