Hi, I’m Crystal Post. I’m the new Junior Associate at Dent Coulson Elder Law. I’m really hoping that these Elder Law Minutes provide some insight and understanding to complex issues that everyday people face in the estate planning journey.
I’m going to talk about the critical importance of updating your estate plan. We recommend revisiting your estate plan once a year. If you’re single, use your birthday. If you’re married, use your anniversary. But there can be updates in the law, especially surrounding taxes, that you might not be aware of. Not to mention that your assets and income will hopefully grow and shift over time, and family dynamics will change.
So many people unexpectedly have these changes where they get married or divorced. Maybe they start a new small business, or they acquire new assets that need to be protected with a unique plan. But your estate plan is as living and breathing as you are.
So give us a call.
